Last night, as we were getting ready for bed, a storm began. Lightning struck close, and the house shook a bit. Micah thought I moved a large piece of furniture. I shut down the computer, turned off the lights, and we went to bed. Our shades were down, but a flash lit up the room. Instantly, we heard an explosion-like sound. It felt like the entire house was shaking for a few seconds. Pictures fell off the walls, and others were crooked.
Our cable, phone, and internet were out for a while, but I haven’t seen any other damage. If lightning didn’t actually strike the house, it struck very close! It was a startling experience that we never want to have again.
