A pictorial journey through Danvers Hospital, an asylum built in Massachusetts in the 1870s
and closed in 1992. This presentation features photographs taken by Laura
(WavGirl) in 2003 and quotes from a book (1854) by Thomas Kirkbride. His ideas about the treatment
of the mentally ill were reflected in the design of this and many other hospitals.
