Slow Down, Idiot

What happens when you rush around to get back on schedule? You do stupid things. You drop a heavy bag and, consequentially, slam your hand on a table.

I knew straight away that my finger wasn’t broken, but something was wrong. It became swollen and slightly blue. Micah went out in search of something that would help.

Splint

Mr. Happy Splint (Bob, perhaps?) cost $4.00. We’ve spent 48 hours together, and I think that’s enough. The swelling is down today. I’m relieved to see that I haven’t lost my super healing powers (seriously, I have remarkable recovery time from all sorts of trauma).

The weather is hot and sticky. We are definitely skipping the proposed picnic. I’m sitting in the gazebo while Lily naps and the other kids are playing in the sprinkler. They want me to grill for lunch. It’s the last thing I want to do right now, but it will make them happy! At least now I can do it without lighting my hand on fire!
